The latest Star Wars Show, "ANDOR: S1" has released its first-half of its first season, and is already making headlines with how incredible it is. And, one genius specific detail they decided to put in this show, at the very beginning even, is the actual Year it covers: "BBY 5".

This has not ever happened in any of the other shows or movies. That alone is groundbreaking.

So, with these new developments probably being news for a lot more casual people, let's delve into what BBY means in the first place, and how every other Movie, Show or Short Film takes place in this Calendar System.

First off, "BBY" refers to "Before the Battle of Yavin", which is the Official Name of the Final Planet Battle in "EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE", the first ever released Star Wars project. That was the moment that signalled the first ever time that a group of Rebels was able to attack the Galactic Empire in a MASSIVE blow (pun intended).

That is also why it specifically starting to show up in the "ANDOR" show makes perfect sense, seeing how that show is showing the beginning of the Rebellion itself through the lens of one Rebel with a troubled past and tough road ahead of him.

In this Calendar System, this is known to go in the order of "BBY #". There's also "ABY", or "After the Battle of Yavin", which is currently known to go in the order of "# ABY".

So, going by this logic, here is the Official (Current) Timeline for the Shows, Films and Short Films:
