Hello There...

Where to begin...?

I've always admired Storytelling: The delicate art of forming a story that feels natural enough to make sense, but also happen in a certain series of events to teach us some lessons. It's fascinating and inspiring to me.

But I particularly enjoy the storytelling in Movies and Shows, especially since, like storytelling itself, there's SO. MUCH. VARIETY. of kinds of movies and shows out there... and there will continue to be even more. But, that's where the chaos is.

There is such a vast amount of Films and Series out there, especially with many of them being part deeply-interconnected Cinematic Universes that continuesly builds into each other, that it can easily be a lot to take in and keep track of.

That's where I come in:

THE RED CORNER:

Welcome to The Red Corner, a place to (hopefully) chill out, learn what the status is of some element of, typically, the Biggest Film Franchises, and occasionally more independent stories, all as a brief pit stop before moving on with your day!

Except... you've heard this kind of thing before. That ain't new. Several Movie Discussion Sites out there have started out as, and continue to try to be, a place to learn Movie/Show stuff already. So, what am I doing? Well, hopefully, elevate some Balance of Compassion and Criticism.

BALANCE:

Let's look at the Star Wars franchise to explain what I mean:

The biggest Star Wars show ever is "The Mandalorian". It has 3 Seasons currently. In 2024, they released a completely unrelated show called "The Acolyte". It was intended to get more than 1 Season, but it got cancelled very soon after it ended.

Here's the thing though: Criticisms for "The Mandalorian" are way more balanced compared to "The Acolyte". On Movie/Show review/information site IMDb, weeks before "The Acolyte" even premiered at all, it got more 1-Star Reviews than any-numbered star reviews of ALL. THREE. seasons of "The Mandalorian" combined...

That doesn't seem right. The quality of "The Acolyte" compared to "The Mandalorian" is a valid discussion to have, but we have to be good faith (aka fair) about debating these things, because if we don't than all we're gonna get is more of the same we have been lately:

• Clickbait headlines

• Extremely exaggerated takes on everything, especially including nitpicky shit

• And especially Rampant Misinformation

That's where this site begins to truly come in...

MY GOALS:

I wanna provide a place to 1) learn about what the current status is for many Major Film Franchises, and also 2) encourage having slightly less chaotic discourses about this incredible, invaluable form of entertainment.

To be clear, I'm not saying I think discourse should be only positive. Criticisms should occur, they just should be more in good faith than they are nowadays.

So, here on The Red Corner, there will be 5 Types of Articles here:

• TIMELINES - A written-out chronology of when each project in each universe takes place in their respective timelines.

• SCHEDULES - A list of when known Movies, Shows and Short Films are coming to Franchises.

• GT - An acronym standing for 'General Thoughts', essentially a Mini-Review of Movies and Shows and stuff but with a different name.

• ESSAYS - My own personal thoughts and takes on certain topics relating to Movies and Shows

• ??? (Not Yet Revealed... 👀) - ???

I want this to be a place of Positivity, sure, but also Understanding. Let's hopefully have a good, actually civil time discussing and learning about this amazing form of entertainment!
